Welcome to The Lady Renovator. I am Shawn Richardson, a seasoned interior design and renovation professional offering very hands-on, boutique-style design and renovation services.
I have been working in residential design and renovations since 2003. During that time I have renovated countless projects ranging in design style, scale, scope and budget.
I have also renovated many projects in my own homes, from taking a house down to the studs to my current project of remodelling my own master bathroom. I know firsthand the pitfalls and joys of a renovation!
My mother always said that sawdust was my perfume, and it must be true. I have lived through so many renovations, but the chaos never wears me down. As soon as I finish a project, I start thinking about the next one

Throughout my years of working with homeowners, I have really listened to their pain points, frustrations and general lack of understanding of how a renovation works. One of my all-time favourite projects was working with Jonathan and Drew on the HGTV television show “Property Brothers at Home on The Ranch”. It was a great experience, and although I was behind the scenes from beginning to end, I appeared only briefly in Episode 3 – “The Master Ensuite”. I worked with the actual homeowners and the Property Brothers for a total of 5 months.
